Lord of the Rings

I watched the third and final part of the trilogy
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003).
Still not sure why such an impact on pop culture.
So much so that there is a Lord of the Rings wiki.
It is officially called One Wiki to Rule Them All.

My major interest is remembering the characters of note.
I have been on websites where people use their names.
I always wondered about the person behind the name.

Fellowship of the Ring characters:
Hobbits: Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin
Gandolf - wizard - to help people of middle earth against evil
Aragorn - men - becomes King of the Reunited Kingdom
Legolas - elf - played by Orlando Bloom
Gimli - dwarf - looks like norse warrior
Boromir - men - seduced by the ring meant to protect

Ladies of note:
Arwen - elf - married Aragorn at the end of the movie.
Eowyn - men - unrequited love of Aragorn - fought in battle with Merry
Galadriel - elf - gave each member of fellowship a gift and supplies
